Cheap Car Rentals and Nissequogue River State Park

Nissequogue River State Park is located on the north shore of Long Island in King's Park. Here you will find a variety of habitats that include fresh water and tidal wetlands and hardwood forests. You will find shore birds, reptiles, and amphibians. There is one section of the park that has been designated a State Bird Conservation Area.

There are many hiking trails here that nature lovers will really enjoy once they arrive with their cheap car rental. The Greenbelt Trail allows you to walk or hike along the Nissequogue River, with a great view of the river and the bluffs.

Other attractions include a soccer field, a canoe and kayak launch, fishing, bird watching, guided tours, bike rentals, and a conference room that can be rented. In the winter there is also snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. There is a museum and visitor's center. The park is open all year long from dawn to dusk. No pets are allowed here. Directions

Take the Sunken Meadow Parkway North to SM4 with your cheap car rental. Head east on Pulaski (which changes into Old Dock Rd.). At the 4th traffic light make a right onto St. Johnland Rd. Park. The entrance is about 1/2 mile on the left with parking for your cheap car rental.

There are many other great state parks in the area near Nissequogue River State Park. There is the Governor Alfred E. Smith/Sunken Meadow State Park. Once you get out of your cheap car rental, you will have so much to do here that you might wonder where to start. There are miles of beachfront on the Long Island Sound where you can relax in the heat of the sun or cool off in the water. There are also miles of hiking trails, including the Greenbelt trail. There is also the Caleb Smith State Park Preserve, the Connet River State Park Preserve, the Caumsett State Historic Park, and the Heckscher State Park.
King's Park is a great town to visit with your cheap car rental. It is close enough to New York City that you will be able to visit, but you can also relax in a small town atmosphere. Sports are great here. From kayaking, canoeing, fishing, and bird watching - you are sure to find something you enjoy here. Afterwards you can relax in the cool water to feel refreshed.
Golf is another popular activity. There are three 9-hole golf courses and a driving range in the area, so be sure to bring your golf clubs. If you don't have any, you can rent them as well.

The local Chamber of Commerce tries very hard to keep the businesses they represent very competitive. Antique shops are a popular attraction for those who come to the area looking for that special souvenir.
