Passenger Van Rentals and Eisenhower Park
Eisenhower Park is located in East Meadow in Nassau County on Merrick and Stewart Avenues. This park has been part of the park system in Nassau County since 1944. The area is bordered by the Hempstead Turnpike and Old County Road, so it is easy to get to with a cheap car rental. The facilities at this park are some of the best in Nassau County, with great summer events.
Athletic Facilities
- Sixteen lighted tennis courts.
- Athletic fields, including 17 baseball fields, four soccer fields, and three football fields.
- Batting cage with three speeds of pitching.
- Aquatic Center with a fitness center. It was built for the Goodwill Games in 1998 that still regularly hosts swimming competitions and is open to the public. There is a lap pool, as well as a 25-meter diving board.
- Three 18-hole golf courses open to the public. The Red Course hosts the Commerce Bank (PGA) Championship.
- There is a jogging path that extends throughout the park.
For the Kids
Kids are welcome here, with plenty to keep them busy. There is an 18-hole miniature golf course, three playground areas, and a sprinkler pool. There are also picnic areas that you can reserve and others that are open. Also, there is a Safety Town operated by the Police Department to teach kids safety in a miniature town. During July and August, there is a children's program available to third graders that starts at 12:30 p.m, Monday through Friday.
Other Things to Do
- An outdoor theatre, the Harry Chapin Lakeside Theatre, is an outdoor theatre with a full schedule of events, including movies and concerts.
- There is a restaurant in the park, the Carltun on the Park. It offers a restaurant, bar, meeting room, and banquet facilities.
Directions
From the south: take Meadowbrook Parkway North with your cheap car rental to Exit M3 East/Stewart Avenue. Make a right onto Stewart Avenue and take this street until you reach the park.
From the north: take Meadowbrook Parkway South with your cheap car rental to Exit M3/Stewart Avenue. Make a left onto Stewart Avenue and take this until you reach the park.
