Directions
If you are coming from the West with your Van Rental, take the Grand Central Parkway to the Northern Parkway, or take the Long Island Expressway to Sagtikos State Parkway, then go south to the Southern State Parkway. Next go east to Heckscher State Parkway, then south to Montauk Highway (Route 27A, exit 45E) to the Arboretum. Parking is available for your Van Rental.
If you are coming from Eastern Long Island, take the Sunrise Highway (Route 27) west to the Southern State Parkway, then go south to exit 45E (Route 27A). Next go east on Route 27A with your Van Rental to the Arboretum.

Belmont Lake State Park is a full service park that is the headquarters of the Long Island State Park Region in Babylon. Activities include boating, fishing, picnicking, biking, horseback riding, hiking and cross-country skiing. There are also playing fields, horseshoe and basketball courts and playgrounds.
Connetquot River State Park is designated for the protection and propagation of the birds, fish, and animals that live on the land and in the water. There are 50 miles of hiking, horseback riding, cross-country ski, and nature trails. Guided walks and interpretive tours are available. They last two hours and take you two miles around the park. Many of the trails are wheelchair accessible. The longest one, the Blue Trail, is 8.5 miles long and goes across the park!
Sunken Meadow State Park has so much to do, you may wonder where to start. There are miles of beachfront on the Long Island Sound where you can relax in the heat of the sun or cool off in the water. There are also miles of hiking trails, including the Greenbelt trail. There are also bike trails, and cross-country ski trails in the winter. There are also many golf facilities, including three 9-hole golf courses, a driving range, a putting green, and a clubhouse. The view from the Bluffs are absolutely beautiful.
