Cold Spring Harbor State Park is a park in Huntington on 40 acres of land that are easy to get to with a Van Rental. It offers beautiful views of the hilly terrain that surround Cold Spring Harbor. Directions
From Nassau County (West): Take the Northern State Parkway or Long Island
Expressway (495) east with your Van Rental to the Seafood Oysterbay Expressway
(135) north. Then take the Jericho Turnpike east to Woodbury Road, and make a
left (north). At Route 108 make left and follow to the end at Lawrence Hill
Road. Make a left and then immediate right onto Route 25A (east).
From eastern Suffolk County: Take the Northern State Parkway or Long Island
Expressway (495) west to Route 110 north. Then take Route 110 to Route 25A, and
make left (west). Follow 25A into the village of Cold Spring Harbor.
Within the village of Cold Spring Harbor there is a parking field for your Van
Rental on Main Street. This is keep you close to both the park and the village's
shops, restaurants, attractions, and waterfront.
Whaling
In Cold Spring Harbor you can also visit the Cold Spring Harbor Whaling Museum. Here you can discover the maritime life on Long Island by exploring a 19th century whaleboat, whaling history exhibits, conservation exhibits, a family activity center, films, and much more! Cold Spring Harbor is an interesting little town that is not far from Manhattan. It has nice little shops and restaurants, as well as comfortable places to stay while you are here.
