Hampton Car Rentals and East Hampton Beaches
East Hampton has extensive white sand beaches with crystal clear water that makes it easy to forget you are just a short trip away from New York City with a Hampton car rental. It has been called “the perfect summer getaway”. East Hampton Village Beaches require a parking permit for vehicles only. For those with a Hampton car rental, permits can be obtained at the Village Hall and Main Beach in East Hampton. There is a fee for non-village residents, including weekends and holidays.

Main Beach
As the most-well known beach in the area and one of the top-rated beaches in the United States, Main Beach serves as the social scene of East Hampton. There is a snack bar, a deck, and bathroom facilities. Some travel sites suggest that this beach is best as a day trip with a Hampton car rental for those trying to save money because accommodations in the area often require three or five night stays and can be expensive during peak season. This beach has lifeguards on duty from Memorial Day to Labor Day from 10am-5pm daily.
Special Events
The Annual East Hampton Sandcastle Contest is supported by the Clamshell Foundation. This non-profit organization supports local East End community and environmental projects. This event takes place in August and is open for all to enter. It is located at Amagansett, a short ride away with a Hampton car rental. Main Beach is also the site of a spectacular Fourth of July fireworks display put on by the East Hampton Fire Department.
Off Season
While the area is busiest during the summer, it can still be enjoyed in the fall and winter. With less crowds, there is a old-time charm to the village and its beaches. There is a lot to sightsee in the town with a Hampton car rental. If you do decide to stay in East Hampton during peak season, be sure to make a reservation at a nearby hotel to guarantee a place to stay!
