The Lotus Elise is 2 Wheel drive roadster made in the UL, it has a rather boring standard Rover 'K' series 118bhp engine but still manages to get from 0-60mph in a very respectable 5.5 seconds! It manages this amazing speed because the car has an incredibly low kerb weight of 690Kg's!

The handling is amazing, you can sit in the drivers seat, and happy change lanes on the motorway at 90 by yanking the wheel one way and then the other. If you tried that in most cars you'd either flip them or the suspension would just wallow around all over the place! Likewise you can hammer around those cool mini roundabouts and sharp chicanes with the greatest of ease.
At traffic lights you can blow everyone away, I even managed to beat a
Porsche 944 turbo once, (who I'd just had a great race with from the UCI at Tower Park, Poole to the cop shop near Bournemouth railway station. On an open road he'd beat me of course, but straight line speed is not what the Lotus Elise is about, I've had mine up to 137mph, it's rated at 124mph. Mind you, that was after a long downhill stretch of motorway with a following wind :-)
The car itself is very basic indeed, it had to be to keep the weight down, there's no carpets, no electric windows or electric roof. And only the drivers seat is adjustable. The cockpit is a mix of plastic, and bare aluminum chassis, not that it's bad. In fact it's very sporty indeed. I love it! And it's pretty easy to clean too!
It's a bit of a babe magnet too, though not as much as I'd like it to be :-) It's always amusing when you come out of a night club at 2:00am and go back to the car, hehe. No matter where you park it there's always someone looking over the car when you get back to it. It's such an attention grabber and I love it as I'm such a show off and maybe a little bit too materialistic.
