The Long Island Children's Museum is a hands-on museum for kids and their families where you can play, learn, and have fun with their cheap car rental.

New ones that recently opened include Bricks and Sticks, an investigation of the three-dimensional world using building materials. There is also the Changes and Challenges exhibit that shows children the challenges faced by people with differing abilities. You get to use tools and equipment designed to help people with these challenges. The Communication Station explores the evolution from cave painting to satellite technology. This was an older exhibit that was popular and revamped to make another appearance at the Children's Museum. It's Alive shows kids the wonder of their bodies and other living things, including many things that are native to the Long Island environment. Music allows people to listen and make music with instruments from around the world. Finally, TotSpot is where the youngest visitors can play with others in a safe environment.
There are also many programs and theater performances at the museum. The plays change frequently, but some examples are Rabbit!Rabbit! where you can create a frog puppet of your own or A-Tisket, A-Tasket where you can design a flower basket and fill it with paper flowers. Cupid's Dilemma is a play where the audience helps write the story and theme song and then perform it. There is also Celebrations through Steel Drums, a concert with steel drums.

Located in Garden City, the Long Island Children's Museum is easy to get to with a cheap car rental. Parking for your cheap car rental and access to the museum and the entrance to the museum is located on Charles Lindbergh Boulevard. To get here from Manhattan with your cheap car rental, take the Long Island Expressway to exit 38 for Northern State Parkway. Then take Northern State to exit 31A, which is the Meadowbrook Parkway South. Exit at M4 West and make the first right onto Charles Lindbergh Boulevard. Proceed through the traffic light to the Long Island Children's Museum, which is on the right side of the road. You could also take Grand Central Parkway which becomes Northern State in Nassau County. Exit at 31A, which is the Meadowbrook Parkway South. The museum is open Wednesday through Sunday from 10:00a.m. to 5:00p.m. It is also open on many holidays that fall on a Monday, except Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Day, Easter, and Memorial Day.
The cost is $8. Children must be accompanied by an adult while they are here.
