New Peter J. McGowan Concourse at Islip's MacArthur Airport features new gates, shops and eateries!

Just recently MacArthur Airport, here in the middle of Long Island, recieved a makeover. The makeover included a big new concourse, added terminals, and new concessions. Its beautiful! It is a big relief to see the airport go from old and small - to new and bigger! The new concourse was built and is now primarily owned by Southwest Airlines! The layout of the airport is very simple and easy to navigate! As soon as you walk in the main entrance, you can either make a right to get to the check-in counters, or make a left to get to the carousels and pick-up a friend that just arrived. Security is fairly fast. There are a number of concession stands, as well as souvenir shops located before & after the security check-point. The following airlines service MacArthur Airport - some of the airlines may use a codeshare partner for some flights. Southwest Airlines, Delta Connection, Continental Express, US Airways express Brand new concourse, terminals & concessions!

Ground Transportation:

• Shuttle service between MacArthur Airport and the Ronkonkoma train station:
  Colonial Transportation of Long Island (631-589-3500 or 800-464-6900) now offers convenient shuttle service between MacArthur Airport and the Ronkonkoma train station (LIRR).  The shuttle van departs the train station daily at 5:30am, then departs the airport on the hour and half-hour from 6:00am until 10:30pm.  Curbside pick up at the airport is directly in front of baggage claim.  The shuttle will pick up and drop off at the North Platform of the Ronkonkoma train station.  Cash and credit cards are accepted.  All rates are subject to change without notice.

• Train and Bus:
  The Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) (631-822-LIRR) offers frequent direction service to Penn Station in Manhattan from the Ronkonkoma train station (approximately 1½  miles from MacArthur Airport and approximately 5-10 minute ride.)  The train ride is approximately one hour and 25 minutes.

• Private Car/Door-to-Door Service:
  Private car service from MacArthur airport using Lincoln Town cars, stretch limousines, 14-passenger vans and 14-passenger luxury limo-bus for corporate meetings, entertaining clients or a night on the town. Directions to the Airport:

• From the West -- On the Long Island Expressway 495 take exit 57 South. At the 2nd light on the service road is Veterans Memorial 454. Turn right and travel 5 miles to Johnson Ave., then turn left into Airport entrance. *OR* On Southern State Parkway, take exit 44E to Sunrise Hwy 27 to exit 49. Continue on the service road to the 2nd light to Johnson Ave., then turn left on Johnson Ave. and travel north to the Airport.

• From the East -- On Sunrise Hwy take Exit 50A North on Johnson Ave and follow Johnson Ave to Airport entrance. *OR* If traveling on the Long Island Expressway: take exit 60 North service road and turn left off service road at 2nd light on Ronkonkoma Ave. Travel over the bridge. Once over the bridge, Ronkonkoma becomes Smithtown Ave. At the light, turn left on Lakeland Ave, then turn left at the next light onto Veterans Memorial Hwy. Now travel on Veterans Memorial Hwy until you reach Johnson Ave. where you will make a left to the Airport.
