Cheap Car Rentals and Jones Beach State Park

Jones Beach State Park is known for it's swimming off the shores of Wantagh. There are 6.5 miles of beachfront along the ocean as well as one-half mile along the bay for stillwater bathing and two swimming pools. A cheap car rental will get you to the beach for a day of fun.

At the west end of the park, there is great surf fishing, a boat basin, and undeveloped areas that are home to birds and native plants. Here you will find the Theodore Roosevelt Nature Center, with environmental displays about the seashore, tours, and programs for everyone. There is also a two mile boardwalk with a "Castles in the Sand" photo collection at the East Bathhouse. This dhows the development of Long Island's park system and Jones Beach.

In Early June there is the Summer Run Series, which is a five-mile race in the evening.
For the Forth of July, there is the North Fork Bank Fireworks Spectacular, with a fireworks spectacular at 9:00p.m.
At the end of July there is a weekend volleyball tournament held by Vytra Health Plans.
Finally, at the end of August there is a "I Fish NY Salt Water Clinic". Open to anyone age 10 or older, you can come here with your cheap car rental to learn fishing techniques, how to tackle, ethics, regulations, fish biology, seafood safety, and even filet techniques. It take place for most of the day.

Located 33 miles from Manhattan with your cheap car rental. Take the Meadowbrook Parkway South, then the Wantagh Parkway south to Jones Beach State Park. Parking is available for your cheap car rental.
