Nassau and Suffolk Counties form Long Island. Nassau was once the name of Long Island, named after William of Nassau, who became King William III of England. With a population of 1.3 million, the area offers a number of parks, beaches, sports venues, concert venues, museums, theatres, and golf courses. History

Theodore Roosevelt lived at Sagamore Hill, now a National Historic site. This site was know as the ?Summer White House? for this former president, Nobel Prize winner, and recipient of the Congressional Medal of Honor.
