Explore Plant Life
The Garden is a museum of plants alive with discovery, from the landmark and nation's largest Victorian glasshouse Enid A. Haupt Conservatory offering an eco-tour of the world under glass, to the innovative Everett Children's Adventure Garden where children get the chance to explore nature and plant science. Also a National Historic Landmark, The New York Botanical Garden includes dramatic rock outcroppings, wetlands, ponds, a cascading waterfall, and a 50-acre tract of the original forest that once covered New York City.

Some of the tours are offered at different times throughout the week, so be sure to make your Manhattan car rental plans in conjunction with what tour you want to be a part of. Just some of the tours you can choose include:
Expert Tours and Talks: Learn how an orchid can grow on a rock; or when a rose's fragrance is most intense; along with much more as you get an insider's view of specific plants, gardens, and exhibitions from Garden staff and visiting experts during the Expert Tours and Talks. This tour is offered on weekends only.
Docent-led Tours: Join expert volunteers for an in-depth look at favorite collections like the Perennial Garden, Conservatory, and Forest as well as other highlights and themes. You can check this tour out anytime during your Manhattan car rental stay as it is offered daily!
Bird Walks: Bring your binoculars along with you in your Manhattan car rental and tour the grounds with a National Audubon Society member to encounter and learn about the birds that call the Garden home. This tour is on Saturdays only and is seasonal.
Narrated Tram Tours: The Tram is not just a great way to get around the Garden's 250 acres-It's also a narrated tour that offers an overview of the Garden, its history, and its programs. Hop off and explore at any of the five stops. You can also catch this tour daily.
Getting to the Gardens
From the west side Manhattan take West Side Hwy North to Henry Hudson Pkwy North to Mosholu Pkwy (Exit 24). Continue to the end. Turn right onto Kazimiroff Blvd. At the third traffic light, turn left into the Garden.
From east side Manhattan take FDR Drive North to Triborough Bridge to Bruckner Expwy East (I-278) to Bronx River Pkwy North to Fordham Rd (Exit 7W). Merge onto Fordham Rd and stay in right lane. Turn right onto Kazimiroff Blvd, and continue to the Garden entrance on the right.
From Brooklyn and Queens take Bronx-Whitestone Bridge to Hutchinson River Pkwy North to Bruckner Expwy West (I-278) to Bronx River Pkwy North to Fordham Rd (Exit 7W). Merge onto Fordham Rd and stay in right lane. Turn right onto Kazimiroff Blvd, and continue to the Garden entrance on the right.
