The dawning of the 1930's saw the Yankees continue to improve as manager Joe McCarthy would lead the team to unimaginable heights. With the help of sluggers like Joe DiMaggio, Lou Gehrig, Frank Crosetti and the pitching talents of Red Ruffing and Lefty Gomez, the team would go on to win five titles during the dirty thirty's, posting four back to back titles in 1936, '37, '38, and '39. The Yank's would prove unstoppable for nearly 15 years after the McCarthy era, winning thirteen titles between 1950 and 1964. It wasn't until 1965 that the team would finally sink into mediocrity, going 12 years without a World Series win.
Today the New York Yankees continue to withhold their historic greatness, winning World Series titles in 1996, 1998, 1999 and 2000. Popular players on the current team include Derek Jeter, Mike Myers, Alex Rodriguez, Jason Giambi and Randy Johnson.
