Radio City Music Hall is one of the world's largest indoor music venues, located in the Rockefeller Center in Midtown Manhattan. The name Radio City comes from one of the first tenants in the Rockefeller Center, the Radio Corporation of America. The theater showed both movies and stage shows for much of its history. The interior of the theater was designed by Donald Deskey. It incorporates glass, aluminum, chrome, and geometry. Instead of the Rococo style that was popular at the time the theater was built, Deskey instead choose an art deco style. With 5933 seats, it was the largest indoor theater in the world when it opened. The Great Stage is 66.5 feet deep and 144 wide, designed to resemble a setting sun. The elevator system was so advanced at the time that the Navy used some of the hydraulics in World War Two aircraft. It is very interesting to see when you come with your car rental in New York City. There is also a huge pipe organ, the Mighty Wurlitzer, the largest one built for a movie theater. It was built to be a concert instrument, capable of playing many styles of music. There are 4410 pipes in chambers on both sides of the arch. A restoration was done in 1999 when the theater was restored.

It will feature information about the art deco design, the Wurlitzer Organ, the Rockefeller Center, and much more. If there is a concert or other special event, there may be some restrictions in access.
